Maureen Porter graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing Science and combined her medical knowledge with her love of sales while working in the Pharmaceutical industry for 20 years with Bayer, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
Maureen initially worked in Ann Arbor Michigan calling on physicians affiliated with University of Michigan following which Maureen moved to Toronto Canada and continued in Pharmaceutical sales calling on leading Cardiologists and Psychiatrists in Toronto and Southwestern Ontario.
Maureen’s love of real estate prompted her to become an Arizona Realtor in 2006. Her personal experience in purchasing homes in the US as a dual American / Canadian citizen gives Maureen the understanding necessary to simplify the buying process for Canadian investors. Arnold Porter is the co-founder of Arizona for Canadians and also is the President and Managing Partner of Sky-Galaxy Golf Inc., the owner and operator of Royal Woodbine Golf Club, Maples of Ballantrae Golf Club and formerly the co-owner of Glen Eagle Golf Club in the Toronto area. As the Managing Director of Royal Woodbine and Maples of Ballantrae Golf Clubs from 1992-2002, Arnold was responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of these businesses and guided them to become highly profitable golf courses. Arnold is also the Past Chairman of the Canadian Golf Tourism Alliance, a golf industry group whose mandate was to promote Canadian golf courses to the international media and put together golf tourism packages for international travelers. Beside positions on the board of the above named businesses, Arnold has served as a board member of the Willows Golf Club in Saskatoon on behalf of the Working Ventures Canadian Fund.
Since 2003, Arnold has continued his role of overseeing Sky-Galaxy’s Toronto area golf courses business and has also invested in vacation real estate in Arizona. In 2003 and 2004, Arnold acquired five houses in the Sedona, AZ area. Four of these properties have been used as profitable income properties – both as full time and vacation rentals, with one being sold for a profit of 400% in 2005. As result of his golf, leisure travel and real estate experience, Arnold and his wife Maureen formed Arizona for Canadians along with their partners in 2007. This successful realty services company provides a host of services to Canadians interested in vacation and investment properties in the U.S. including property acquisition, mortgage financing, property management and cross border tax and estate planning services.
